WORLDSPY PICKS MCCANN FOR $12 MIL ACCOUNT

Online shopping service WorldSpy today names McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York, its agency of record for a $12 million consumer campaign launching this year.

McCann-Erickson, which won the account after a two-month review, will handle creative and media responsibilities. There was no incumbent.

WorldSpy has launched a shopping site that allows consumers to compare products, read reviews from sources such as Consumers Digest and purchase merchandise at discounted prices.

Women.com content bolsters Road Runner

Women.com Networks will provide content to cable broadband online service Road Runner in a deal announced today. Women.com will provide content for the family, food, health, home and lifestyle topics of Road Runner's Living Channel. The online women's community also will create special multimedia content for Road Runner. In exchange, Road Runner will provide links to Hearst Magazines titles on Women.com, including Cosmopolitan and Redbook.

Tunes.com to offer free music downloads

Tunes.com, Chicago, an online music hub with programming developed with the Rolling Stone and music sites the Source and Down Beat, today launches downloadable music sections on www.rollingstone.com and www.thesource.com. The sections, called Download This, will enable consumers to download music for free. Download this supports MP3, MS Audio, Liquid Audio and a2b Music digital formats.

Hallmark revamps electronic greetings site

Hallmark Cards today unwraps a redesign for its site, which offers 1,000 free electronic greetings as well as 300 more sophisticated animated greetings for sale. The site (www.hallmark.com) also offers an expanded reminder service and address book, a new online calendar and other gifts for sale including flowers, chocolates and collectibles.

WinStar Interactive beefs up client roster

Ad network WinStar Interactive today announces three new clients. They are: FasTV, a site (www.fastv.com) that allows users to search TV and video clips; online calendar service Digital Daytimer (www.digital.daytimer.com); and Nando Media, which publishes news site the Nando Times (www.nandotimes.com); and the Sportsserver (www.sportserver.com).
