Dougherty, Wheaton, Georgiadis Take on New Duties at Ad Age

Three Tapped as Assistant Managing Editors; Reinhardt Promoted as Well

NEW YORK ( -- Ad Age is pleased to announce the promotion of four members of its editing team.

Sheila Dougherty, Aris Georgiadis and Ken Wheaton have all been promoted to assistant managing editors, reporting to Managing Editor Judann Pollack. The promotions recognize their continuing hard work and that each of them is now taking a primary role in commissioning and editing stories.

"While many publishers today have chosen to go the route of aggregating others' stories, at Ad Age much of our work still involves original reporting and analysis," said Ad Age Editor Jonah Bloom. "Doing that at the speed necessary in today's world, without compromising quality, requires not only great reporters, but also a strong, multitalented editing team. We are lucky enough to have such a team here, and I hope this promotion goes some way to recognizing their contributions."

In addition, Kara Reinhardt has been promoted to senior copy editor, a title that recognizes that Ms. Reinhardt has taken on additional duties as a deputy editor to Mr. Georgiadis on the Ad Age Daily e-mail, and as one of the team of Ad Age home-page editors.

"Today, reporters and editors have to be versatile," said Mr. Bloom. "One moment they're working on a blog post, another they're helping to produce a video, packaging stories into a compelling newsletter, or doing a deep-dive into a company's numbers for an analysis to run in the newsweekly. Kara is one of many here who have shown the willingness to broaden their skills as we evolve our business model."
