The dropped call on a rival's wireless network is a popular theme in TV commercials, but we wouldn't have believed it could be conveyed as vividly in a billboard if we hadn't seen this outdoor campaign. One of the three panels is simply removed, rendering a short sentence meaningless, above the phrase, "Interruptions? Switch to Verizon Wireless."

Client: Procter & Gamble-Tide
Tide distills its stain message into the simplest images imaginable. These ads don't even have words, just the familiar Tide logo and one picture of a messy, everyday food item that anyone looking at it can immediately imagine turning into a stain. The danger lurks in that full plastic cup of coffee, the packet of ketchup, the beaker of red wine.
