When Advertising Age began considering which magazines to honor for 2006, it became clear we would have to do some things differently this year.

Despite all the gloom-Time Inc. shrinking to grow, closures from Cargo to Elle Girl-there were still too many bright lights to pick from. So this year we've filled our A-List with extra surprises, like two Launches of the Year. We think their diverse assets and tactics collectively point the industry's way ahead.
