TransWorld magazines, which Time Inc. just put on the block, has struck a deal with Heavy.com to create an ad-supported, TransWorld-branded action sports channel. TransWorld execs hope the Heavy exposure will help its brand and content find a broader audience. Nielsen/NetRatings said Heavy.com attracted 3.5 million unique visitors during August, while traffic to all of TransWorld's websites fell below its minimum threshold for measurement.
Consumers trust TV, radio more than emerging media
Traditional news sources are considered more reliable and trustworthy by consumers than blogs and other emerging media, according to a nationwide survey conducted by LexisNexis, but a third of respondents said they expect to turn to both types of media for news in the future. The 1,500-person online survey found that the "future of trust" lies in traditional media forms-mainstream newspapers, magazines, TV and radio.
