The Cannes International Advertising Festival Grand Prix Press and Outdoor winners were announced yesterday, and, as is so often the case with Cannes results, some head-scratching is in order. From a shortlist of close to 800 entries, the Outdoor winner is this balloon-festooned "Missile Car" installation, from JWT/Kuala Lumpur for a Malaysian TV station called CH-9. The Press champ, seen here in the PDF, is a VW Polo ad called "Cops," from DDB/London. Both winners are "easy to understand while being true to what the brands stand for," according to jury president Piyush Pandey of O&M/Mumbai. See www.canneslions.com
