The Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York has announced winners and finalists in its fifth annual National Design Awards. The Lifetime Achievement Award winner is none other than Milton Glaser, and the Corporate Achievement Award belongs to Aveda Corp., whose "mission is rooted deeply in social responsibility and environmentally responsible design," according to the museum. The winners of the awards in Architecture Design, Communications Design —@radical.media and MTV are among the nominees in this category — Environment Design, Fashion Design, Product Design as well as the Design Patron Award will be announced at a gala dinner on Oct. 19.
