Last week's 30th anniversary One Show Pencil fest in New York was notable for, among other things, the first-ever Gold-winning entry from the Middle East. Tonic Communications of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, won for a Sony print ad entitled "Paperclip" (see the PDF). Also of note, Tokyo's Tugboat took Design Gold for its Burberry Blue Label brand revamping, which was featured in the May issue of Creativity
and can also be found on AdCritic.com's Creativity Gallery. Among the Gold winners showcased here, we're opening with a French Paper Co. poster series from Charles S. Anderson Design in Minneapolis. Also featured in the PDF are newspaper ads for DHL from agency Jung von Matt, Berlin; an ingenious flag campaign for Grande Reportagem
magazine from FCB/Lisbon; a corporate ID Design winner for Research Surveys from King James RSVP, Cape Town; and an outdoor campaign for Smith & Wesson from Springer & Jacoby, Hamburg. Click here
