D&AD Awards Gold

Published on .

Fruit & Veg Stamps
D&AD Design Gold. At last week's 2004 D&AD Awards in London, the coveted Gold prize known as the Black Pencil was awarded to a pair of design entries: a series of Fruit & Veg stamps by Johnson Banks for the Royal Mail; and an ambitious interactive installation called "Ship of Ideas," created by Atelier Markgraph for a German tourist authority. The Black Pencil, it should be noted, is hardly handed out willy-nilly. At the 2003 D&ADs, for instance, no Gold was bestowed. See www.dandad.org for more results, and look for a D&AD showcase in an upcoming edition of PrintCritic. (The Harvey Nichols ads seen in the One Show gallery below, incidentally, earned the only Yellow Pencil for press advertising at the D&AD.)
