On Saturday, Oct. 22, 6-10 p.m., there's a celebration of painter/illustrator Marshall Arisman in Brooklyn, N.Y., called "Electric Halo." The event will feature a screening of Tony Silver's documentary Arisman: Facing the Audience
an exhibit of Arisman's work, titled "Over the Rainbow"; a multimedia presentation by Arisman himself, "The Aura in Art and Music"; and a concert with video by a band called the Citizens (Arisman designed the cover of their upcoming album). As
"Electric Halo" curator Jillann Hertel notes, the aura-intensive event is about "the intangible space inside our souls that speaks the language of art, music, love and spirit." "Electric Halo" is at the Brooklyn Lyceum in Park Slope; see www.brooklynlyceum.com
for more info. Seen here are some of Arisman's recent paintings, which frequently take human-animal transformations as their subject. See www.marshallarisman.com
