Opening Friday, June 2, at M+B Fine Art, 612 North Almont Drive in L.A., in conjunction with DNA/David Naylor & Associates: "Guitar Eros," the first U.S. exhibition of photography by Jean-Baptiste Mondino. As the title suggests, Mondino, the French photog/director who in fact started his career as a DJ and composer, has a love affair with the guitar, which he presents "as the aphrodisiac, sex symbol and fetish of rock and pop, with players famous and unknown." This according to Schirmer/Mosel, the German publisher of Mondino's recently released Guitar Eros monograph (see www.mondino-at-schirmer.com), which the show celebrates. We open, of course, with Madonna, who can hold a guitar any damn way she wants; see the PDF for Cat Power, Lenny Kravitz and other shots, and see www.mbfala.com and www.dnala.com for more.
