Minneapolis' Charles S. Anderson Design Co. (www.csandersondesign.com
) is out with a hardbound portfolio book that neatly conveys an approach to design that the company says "is a continuous evolution inspired by the highs and lows of art and printed culture." To quote some precepts from the book: "The artistic aspects of design are often downplayed in order to build up the marketing, communication, effectiveness side. We don't diminish the impact of art in design. In fact, we think a better description of what we do is to create art for commerce. Art is the aesthetic human cultural facet of design that makes something interesting and compelling. Without art, graphic design loses its allure and is reduced to nothing more than blatant marketing trash or lifeless information design." Some pages from the book are seen here.
