What a Baseball Team!
New York-based Zona Design's billboard for the Biography Channel's Notorious series is as much fun as reading about felons in the post office. Topped by a slashing, Barbara Kruger-ish logo, the billboard — there's also a similarly styled show open — is a combo perp lineup and Wanted poster. "We designed the T of the Notorious logo with a sharp knife-like edge to underscore the idea that these people were dangerous," explains Zona CD Zoa Martinez. "The nine featured in the program were all skilled manipulators of the media. We took our cue from them and created modern-day Wanted posters in which each is reduced to the single identifier that remains in the public consciousness. Our intent is to create the feeling of an authentic media frenzy surrounding each of them." Great, but isn't it amazing the way Heidi Fleiss is always lumped together with murderers in these true-crime potboilers? She ran a bordello, for crying out loud, she didn't eat 14 guys from Cleveland. See www.zonadesign.com for more.
