White Space: The Final Frontier
Oakland, Calif.-based copywriter Nate Davis and AD Laura Joyce Davis, working here as a husband-and-wife team, take on the Canadian big picture in a campaign aptly tagged, "The great white escape." As Davis explains, "Early on we realized that one thing Canada can really offer tourists is empty space for winter sports — there are fewer people in the entire country than there are here in California. But finding big winter glamour shots with no budget was impossible. I was drying the dishes one evening when I had the epiphany that we could use the white page to indicate snow, and Laura made it happen in Photoshop. Then it was just a matter of writing lines that lived up to the idea of the visuals." See www.natedaviscopywriter.com for more. Wanna fill some white space with your spec?
