Spicers Paper has announced the arrival of the new, improved Pacesetter papers, along with a six-month promotional campaign. On the eve of its 10th anniversary, the popular coated paper "increases brightness and whiteness and still offers the same historical value for the money," according to the company. "The original Pacesetter was launched in 1994 with remarkably little fanfare, but since the late '90s, sales of Pacesetter have grown eightfold." So why the upgrade? Chris Creighton, Spicers president-North America, says, "We polled a broad cross-section of customers to find out what they wanted in a 'house sheet' of coated paper. The results are that we invested heavily in inventory, converting equipment, logistics and promotional activities for both printers and their customers to utilize."
