Gorgeous realized the weight of its creative achievements at the D&AD this year. Celebrating its 50th Anniversary, the organization named the shop its most awarded production company of the past five decades, while Frank Budgen topped the list as most awarded director, alongside fellow Gorgeous rostermate Chris Palmer, who came in at ninth. Tom Carty's roots as a creative were acknowledged with the nod as third most awarded copywriter in D&AD history.

The company continued its legacy of great work in 2012 with AMV BBDO's fabulous spot "The Cloud," for Guinness, about a cumulonimbus who aspires to more than just floating around. Peter Thwaites introduced us to the inspirational "Annie," a girl who wants to fly, for Dell and Y&R, New York and played with our perceptions in a Sprite spot out of BBH New York, highlighting a camouflage technique from the fine arts world made famous by Chinese photographer/sculptor Liu Bolin.

Chris Palmer brought a surprising action-packed take to an Axe man hunt in BBH's cops and robbers scenario promoting the brand's Anarchy male and female scents and sent Barclaycard on a wild ride through a toystore in a holiday ad integrating music recognition app Shazam, for BBH London.

The company also welcomed two exciting new talents to its roster, Hanna Maria Heidrich and Oscar-nominated director/DP Ellen Kuras, known for her cinematography on films like Michel Gondry's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Be Kind, Rewind, as well as others including Blow and Analyze That. In late 2012, Gorgeous solidified its Stateside presence with a dedicated U.S. office, run by L.A. EP Anna Hashmi.
