'Breaking Bad' Creator Vince Gilligan to Direct Spots out of Interrogate, Lader Joins DNA and More

Vince Gilligan, the creator/writer/director of "Breaking Bad," has joined the directorial roster of Interrogate for commercial representation. Gilligan is currently filming his next episodic series for AMC, "Better Call Saul," a spin-off of "Breaking Bad" starring Bob Odenkirk.

Gilligan got his start in filmmaking as a writer on "The X-Files" and also wrote the 2008 film "Hancock" starring Will Smith. He has won Emmys, WGA, PGA and DGA Awards for his work on "Breaking Bad," which had its final season in 2013.

Live-action production company DNA (David Naylor and Associates) has signed director Ethan Lader to its roster of filmmakers. Lader is known as a music video director for artists including Mariah Carey, Enrique Iglesias, Usher and others. His video for Bruno Mars' "Just The Way Your Are" has racked up over 400 million YouTube views. Commercial work includes Volkswagen's Google Smileage campaign with Deutsch, Disney's Memory Makers with Yellow Shoes Creative Group and American Idol Ford Spots with Team Detroit.

Simon Cracknell has joined th2ng, the live action production division of th1ng Group, for representation in the U.K. Cracknell is a photographer and commercial director who has worked on campaigns for Coca-Cola, Trident, Schweppes, Orange and Nike among others. Th1ng Group now has offices in New York, London, Dubai, and Stockholm.

Psyop has appointed Executive Producer Marisa Fiechter to its New York office. Most recently at MPC, Fiechter got her start at Hill Holliday before joining Trollbäck + Company in 2005. While there, she oversaw work for clients that include HBO, Nike, TED and MetLife Stadium. From Trollbäck, Fiechter spent a year at Google Creative Lab.

The Glassworks group has appointed Olivier Klønhammer as managing director of Glassworks Amsterdam. He fills the position vacated by Phil Linturn, who has moved to become the group's Chief Operating Officer. Klønhammer spent 10 years at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam producing film, digital, print and events for brands including Nike, Coca-Cola, EA, Carlsberg, Nokia & Vodafone. This included producing Nike's film for the 2010 World Cup, the Cannes Grand Prix-winning "Write the Future". For the past 18 months he has been working as a Freelance Executive Producer on the global launch of Playstation 4 & producing Converse films and events.

Los Angeles-based production company The Corner Shop has added director Wilfrid Brimo to its roster. He joins from Wanda Productions in Paris where his work has already received Gold and Silver Lions in Cannes, as well as Clios and a White Pencil at D&AD. His last spot for Mercedes won the Grand Prix at the Cristal Festival. Projects include the "Carlos" preview for Canal+ which mixed live action, special effects, motion control, matte painting and 3D.

Tool has added Robert Helphand to its commercial team as executive producer of Live Action. Helphand joins Tool from Aero Film, and has worked with brands such as PlayStation, Kaiser Permanente, Burger King and JCPenny. His most recent projects of note include Samsung's "You Need To See This" campaign, which premiered during the 2014 Oscars, and the Call of Duty: Ghosts live-action trailer, "Epic Night Out." He has won multiple awards for his work, including a Cannes Bronze Lion for Paul Hunter's Burger King "Stuff of Legends," and a Cannes Silver Lion for Neil Tardio's Value City "Role Reversal."

Click 3X has hired creative team Andy Hann and Andrew Kobliska to Click Entertainment as head of creative and executive producer, marketing & brand strategy, respectively. The pair join from Bigsmack where Hann was known for promos for networks like A&E, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel and OWN. Kobliska has worked for agencies, post production studios and startups, as well as opening his own production company, Gravy.
