B-Reel Films is signing director and writer Danny Sangra to its roster. Sangra's first feature film "Goldbricks in Bloom," starring Zosia Mamet, debuted in 2016. He has collaborated with brands such as Burberry, Samsung, BBC, Carolina Herrera, Elle and Vogue. Most recently, he created films for Mercedes-Benz, Miu Miu & Balenciaga.

M ss ng p eces is adding Hyphen-Labs to its Virtual Reality and experiential roster. Hyphen-Labs is an international team of women of color led by Carmen Aguilar y Wedge, Ashley Baccus-Clark and Ece Tankal, who bridge experiential design, science, architecture and creative technology. Baccus-Clark is a Brooklyn-based molecular and cellular biologist and artist; Aguilar y Wedge is an engineer, artist and researcher and Tankal is a Turkish-born architect and visual artist. The team's VR experience, NeuroSpeculative AfroFeminism, which debuted at Sundance and was featured at Tribeca, was showcased as part of NY Fashion Week.

BestFriend, the bicoastal production company, is adding automotive and lifestyle director Nicolai Iuul to its roster. His credit list includes the launch of the Dodge Demon, along with campaigns for Mercedes, Toyota, Audi, Mitsubishi, Infiniti and Fiat. Aside from cars, he has worked with clients like Levi's, Glad and Sonos. His first campaign out of BestFriend is a multiple-spot Jaguar campaign created for agency Spark44.

Music and sound studios Tonefarmer and Travis + Maude are merging and rebranding as New Math. With studios in New York and Los Angeles, New Math is launched and led by Kala Sherman, who serves as managing partner and executive producer, and partners and composers David Wittman and Raymond Loewy. Among the composers and sound designers joining Loewy and Wittman on the New Math roster are Jared Hunter, Jimmy Harned, Dan Sammartano, Sam Skarstad, Casey Smith, Joe Spallina and Producer B Munoz.

The Directors Bureau is signing filmmaker and commercial director Sam Holst for U.S. representation. Holst has helmed spots for Vodafone, Procter & Gamble, Wrigley, General Mills, Las Vegas Tourism and Sportsbet, among others. His short drama "Meathead" was one of nine films selected to screen in competition at the 64th Festival de Cannes Palme d'Or, and also won the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film in Generation at the 62nd Berlin Film Festival.

Paul Stone, an editor-turned-indie filmmaker-turned commercial director, is joining the roster of Spears & Arrows, the three-year-old commercial production company led by founder and executive producer Jason Wolk. Stone was most recently repped in the U.S. by Morgan Spurlock's production company, Warpaint Films, and began his professional career as an editor at production company RSA, New York and Red Car, New York, before becoming a director. His current commercial work includes a new spot for PNC Bank for Deutsch, New York, a campaign for New Orleans-based Community Coffee, branded content VR films for American Family Insurance, and spots for Procter & Gamble's NyQuil and Fidelity Investments. His short films include "Tales of Times Square," which won the top prize for Best Documentary at the L.A. Shorts Film Festival, and recent film "The King Thing."

Passion Animation Studios is signing Salon Alpin, founded by Phillip Cormella and Simon Griesser, for worldwide representation. Based in Lisbon and Vienna, Salon Alpin won this year's Apple Design Award. Their work includes art, illustration, animation, film direction and music. They have done an international Christmas campaign for luxury brand Montblanc and a collaborative project with the Austrian newspaper "Falter," working with German agency Jung von Matt/Donau.

Creative studio Carbon is hiring Gretchen Praeger as senior producer in its Chicago office. Praeger joins Carbon after spending the majority of her career at Optimus, where she served as executive producer and managing director and worked with clients including Nintendo, McDonald's, Sears, JCPenney, Allstate, Gatorade, Taco Bell, KFC, Miller Lite and Budweiser.

Deluxe's Method Studios is promoting Eric Combrié to chief operating officer, reporting to President of VFX and VR/AR Ed Ulbrich.The company has also elevated Tom Wild to VP of global production operations, joining Combrié's team, along with Jeff Werner, who returns to Method as director of digital studio in Los Angeles. Combrié joined Method in 2016 as SVP of global business operations after nearly two decades at Technicolor in senior financial roles. Wild, a 20-year production veteran, has been promoted to the global team from Iloura in Melbourne, where he was national head of production. Werner, who spent five years at Method earlier in his career, joins from MPC, where he was head of production.

Creative studio Midnight Sherpa is hiring business development consultant Janice W. Summers to help lead its company growth and sales initiatives for television, marketing, commercials, main titles, and direct-to-brand work. Summers previously held in-house positions for creative design agencies, such as Imaginary Forces, loyalkaspar and Charlie Company. She started her career in the film and TV business working in the TV Literary department at Creative Artists Agency before moving to commercial production company Biscuit Filmworks, where she worked closely with director Noam Murro.
