Passion Pictures has appointed Katie Mackin to head up a new office in Melbourne to serve advertising clients in Australia and New Zealand. Executive producer Mackin returns to her native Australia after spending 10 years in the U.K,. working mainly at Passion's London office. For the past two years she has been collaborating with VCCP Sydney on its "Compare the Market" work from Passion's London office and Passion will now produce films for the client in Australia.

Brooklyn production company 1stAveMachine has opened a West Coast office in Santa Monica and has expanded its content division. The team there comprises director Arvind Palep, one of the original co-founders of 1stAveMachine, together with executive producers Andrew Geller and Garrett P. Fennelly, director of development Jordan Stone, and director of digital content Alexander Schepsman. The office will focus on film, TV, online, and branded content.

Production and animation studio Nathan Love has signed New York City-based directorial duo Native to Noise to its roster. The pair, directors Nico Puertollano and Katwo Puertollano, have worked for the likes of Google, UPS, CNN, and AstraZeneca, using a style that combines vector art, animation and mixed media.

Production company 8th Street has added Culprit Creative to its roster of directors. The Culprit Creative trio consists of directors/co-founders David Dinetz and Dylan Trussell, and cinematographer Colt Seman. Culprit Creative's work spans automotive, sports, lifestyle, beauty, liquids, and comedy for clients such as Tesla, K-Swiss, and upcoming work for Reese's Puffs. Dinetz and Trussell met through their posts at agency Ignition Creative. Seman has worked with Redbull Media House on its YouTube channel.

MPC New York has appointed Rob Petrie as CG creative director. He joins from The Mill, where he has worked since 2002, first in London and then in New York starting in 2008. There, he was head of 3D and most recently creative director at Mill+. He was worked on projects such as AT&T's "Birthday" spot, and with directors including Peter Thwaites, Fredrik Bond, Noam Murro and Nicolai Fuglsig.

Virtual reality collective VRSE Works has hired Joseph Chen as executive technical producer. Chen joins the team from Oculus, where he was one of the first members of the team and served as product lead and technical producer, helping to develop the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.

Cooperman is known for his fashion and beauty work for brands such as Thierry Mugler, Lexus, L'Oreal, Hugo Boss and Samsung, and has worked with directors including Floria Sigismondi and Jonas Åkerlund.

Sahin, who moves from Switzerland, has worked for clients including Hugo Boss, Nestlé, Ralph Lauren, Camel and Citroen. He will be responsible for developing and leading the Unit9 vision and identity across all platforms.
