Pulse has signed Brazilian director Rodrigo Saavedra to its roster. Saavedra's recent work includes the viral spot for Scrabble, which won a Bronze Lion for Film at Cannes, as well an interactive spot for Volkswagen that was a Silver Lion winner for Film Craft. He has also shot for brands such as Budweiser, Chivas Regal, Nissan and Mizuno. Before turning to full time directing, Saavedra worked as a creative at Mother London, Sao Paulo agency Africa, Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam and Buenos Aires-based Santo.

Accomplice Media has signed comedy director Ben Whitehouse for exclusive representation in the United States. The British-born director launched his career in 2009 and has directed work for Subway, Amazon, Enterprise, KFC, Specsavers, Phones 4U and others. Starting his career as a researcher and treatment writer, Whitehouse worked with directors including Traktor, Jonathan Glazer, Tom Hooper and Ivan Zacharias. His directing career began through Joy@RSA, a division of RSA films, before joining Agile in East London, which continues to represent him for U.K. projects.

Shannon Lords has joined Humble as executive producer in Los Angeles. Lords joins Humble from Warpaint, Morgan Spurlock's commercial production outfit, where she served as managing director and executive producer. Prior to Warpaint, which she helped launch in 2012, Lords spent over a decade as a freelance producer for both feature and commercial projects, working with directors ranging from Barry Levinson and Spike Lee to Noam Murro and Joe Pytka. She has delivered work for clients including Apple, Volkswagen, ESPN, Heineken, Coca-Cola, Mercedes and McDonald's.

Yaybig has signed British indie filmmaker Gary Turk for U.S. representation for commercial work. Turk's spoken word short film, "Look Up" reached over 50 million views on YouTube with a narrative about love, human interaction, and the impact of the Internet on real-life relationships. It also won a gold at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards. Another spoken word film, titled "Live Rich," sponsored by FCB Inferno London, explored wealth, consumerism and the relationship we have with money. His latest short film, "It's Your Future," urges young adults to actively take part in democracy by voting. Turk previously worked at comedian Ricky Gervais' production company in the U.K. on shows such as "Derek" and "The Office Revisited."

Charlotte, North Carolina-based production company Wondersmith has hired Kimberly Abels as senior producer. For more than five years, Abels has held the position of broadcast producer for Trone Brand Energy, where she has managed productions for the North Carolina Education Lottery and numerous national and regional accounts. Prior to joining Trone, she was senior producer for Thornberg & Forester in New York for two years, and that position followed previous stints as a producer for Eyeball and J Walter Thompson in New York.

Creative studio Carbon VFX has added design director Leo Nguyen to its staff. Prior to Carbon VFX, Nguyen spent two years at Light of Day as design director and, eventually, creative director. His work includes branding, commercials, short films, music videos and broadcast promos. Recently he completed work for Royal Canin pet food and the animated Christmas short "Window Washer" for DDB NY, and he has also directed broadcast promos for the Grammy Awards and Australia's Next Top Model.
