Banjos and Boilermakers Meet at the Crossroads

CMT-Branded Bar Ties in With Genre-Mixing Show

By Published on .

In our year-end summary of the best brand-music partnerships, we predicted that 2008 would be a year of innovative deals for artists in the struggling music industry. Well, straight out of the box is a partnership between CMT and Harrah's Horseshoe casino in Bossier City, La., where the first ever CMT "Crossroads Bar" is currently under construction.

"Crossroads" is the hit CMT series that pairs artists from different genres together with popular country music stars to play, trade stories and share a common bond through music. Amongst others, the show has featured pairings such as Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers, Bon Jovi and Sugarland, Joss Stone and LeAnn Rimes and has Robert Plant and Alison Krauss coming up in the future.

CMT will use the new venue for all local tapings and events, and the bar has partnered with local media outlets to host a night of live local music each week. According to various reports, the $3.3 million project -- set to open this spring -- will encompass 3,300 square feet with a stage, dance floor and 27-foot circular bar.
