If Juno Had a Sony Ericsson Walkman Phone

Saatchi Ad Features Troubled-Looking People Singing Depeche Mode

By Published on .

In case you slept through the 80s -- and SFS wouldn't blame you -- this is "Enjoy the Silence," by Depeche Mode, at least originally. For Sony Ericsson's W890 Walkman phone, Saatchi & Saatchi, Stockholm, hired out Plan8, Stockholm, to reinterpret the song and maybe provide some elasticity for the unabashedly amateur karaoke performances by the kids in the ad. Two of whom, at around the :38 mark, bear a striking resemblance to Michael Cera and Ellen Page in "Juno," who also happened to provide (depending upon your tolerance for adolescent awkwardness) a cute/cloying cover of a song in the movie. Coincidence? Duh.

And speaking of pregnancy, if I had a daughter, I'd keep her away from the jogger guy, who pants heavily as he sings, "oh my little girl, all I ever wanted." Shudder.
