Promotion Spotlight: Wells Fargo stages coach tour to tout its high-tech banking

Twist: To introduce its high-tech banking services to consumers and business customers, Wells Fargo is taking a "stage coach" on its first-ever territorywide marketing tour. Consumers will be invited aboard a 45-foot "wired" bus, equipped with 16 Inter-net terminals, a satellite dish and nine video monitors. The bus hit the road last month and will roll on an open-ended schedule across the bank's 23-state area, stopping at some of its 6,000 units and at public venues. The bus often will follow the historic route of the Wells Fargo stagecoach.

Vital statistics: The bus is designed to show people how to do online banking and investing, and will promote everything from bank accounts to home equity loans. States included in the tour are Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon and Texas.
