THE ESSENCE: 2005 was not the brightest year. Goodby Silverstein placed an $80 million losing bet-in the form of the resignation of the Discover card account-on a shootout with siblings BBDO and TBWA for the $300 million Visa account. The shop also lost the Subway account and eBay. While some think Goodby Silverstein is stuck making TV spots, the shop has begun to turn heads with its interactive creative. Challenges going forward: leading Comcast in its battle against telecoms for the pipe into the home, helping re-establish Saturn and keeping Hewlett-Packard Co.'s business.
