Now that the electronica `revolution' has officially fizzled, we can all take an ecstatic look back at the art of techno, thanks to a new book called Searching for the Perfect Beat: Flyer Designs of the American Rave Scene. This 160-page paperbound party out of bounds, by The Earth Program Ltd., a New York multimedia company, features 350 color illustrations of the flyest flyers around. Not only is it interesting to note how many borrow advertising and product logos, but since these are the actual invites, which include dates and locations, the book is also a nostalgic study of the rave zeitgeist of the '90s. Party on.
