When everyone else at a rock concert flicks a lighter in the dark, the Volkswagen driver so identifies with his vehicle that he alone holds a car lighter above his head. This magazine ad, meant to promote all the VW brands, is the second this year to create a winning ad around the lighter-at-a-concert idea; Heineken used the same concept very differently to win an Honorable Mention in the TV Alcoholic Beverages category.
