COVER STORY: Bening, Lopez lead newsstand parade

A Hollywood favorite and a rising star shared the newsstand limelight in the leadup to the Academy Awards, with Annette Bening and Jennifer Lopez each racking up 7 points to tie for the top spot in March. Both appeared on three covers, with Ms. Bening seen on Entertainment Weekly and Good Housekeeping, as well as wrapped in the U.S. flag on Los Angeles Magazine to commemorate her "American Beauty" Oscar nomination.

Ms. Lopez, who has gained notoriety for her relationship with Puff Daddy as well as her revealing wardrobe, was seen on both the monthly Us and new Us Weekly, as well as Talk. The instant fame of TV bride Darva Conger won her third place, with the "Who Wants to Marry a Multimillionaire?" star earning 6 points with 5 covers, while her erstwhile mate, Rick Rockwell, was in a tie for No. 4 with 4 points. Others tying for fourth include Katie Couric, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Julianne Moore and Julia Roberts.
