Standing out as a creative agency is difficult, but Jess3 was incorporated in 2008 with a specialty: data visualizations to make marketers' streams of analytics, purchase and social-exhaust data beautiful and digestible.
With 28 employees and a roster of clients including the customizable-sneaker concept NikeiD (for which Jess3 has been social agency of record for three years), Google, Intel and Mindjet, the shop booked almost $4 million in revenue in 2011, according to its president, Leslie Bradshaw.
Jess3's client work ranges from consumer-facing (about 85% of the business) to internal, and it has some high-profile repeat customers. For two years running, the shop has developed an interactive display for Samsung visualizing real-time social data at the South by Southwest conference. It's also done work for various Google divisions over the past three years and is working with the search giant's politics and elections team to visualize search data about candidates throughout the election cycle.
"A lot of our strategies and the way we run our company are digitally native," said Ms. Bradshaw, 30, whose co-founder, CEO Jesse Thomas, also 30, is her boyfriend of six years.
