Chris Raih, CEO of L.A.-based Zambezi, told Ad Age it helps to have creatives who seriously like the brands they create content for. Luckily, among the shop's 70 staffers are a number of sock and "Star Wars" aficionados.
Zambezi's "Shop With the Force" campaign features gesture-based e-commerce, i.e., an online shopping interface that uses the customer's webcam to allow him or her to browse sock retailer Stance's items using only hand motions. Digital production studio Active Theory helped produce the experience.
Stance beat its personal record in online sales the Cyber Monday after the campaign launched.
