Some agencies decorate their walls with client paraphernalia and take their staffers on outings to events like trade shows.

Safari Sundays prefers scratch-and-sniff banana wallpaper and parties with burlesque dancers from famous New York club The Box. It's not only a scene set for 20-something hipster designers: The shop, in all its quirkiness, has lured big-brand clients like PepsiCo, Carlsberg and Campari. A handful of those clients even got their first tattoos from the artist the shop brings in for parties, joining the majority of its 19 staffers, said Founder Damon Gorrie.

"Safari Sundays is eclectic," he said. "That's the way we approach everything."

Freebies at the SoHo, N.Y.-based shop, founded in 2005, span from waffles and beer to local inspirational outings and a pre-loaded health-savings card. "Beers in the sunshine are really important," the company emphasized in its submission.

When the shop isn't tattooing clients or throwing massive parties, it's churning out creative work for big brands and smaller feel-good clients like Bobble -- a reusable water-bottle brand that touts a mission to reduce bottle waste.
