Watch the Spot: Subway Buys First Super Bowl Ad Since 2005

Celebs Celebrate Jared's 15 Years of Weight Loss

By Published on .

For the first time since 2005, Subway is buying a 30-second spot in the Super Bowl.

It's not clear in which quarter the ad will appear, but the spot was created by Subway's longtime agency MMB. The ad celebrates 15 years of spokesman Jared Fogle, his 200-plus pound weight loss and his ability to keep the weight off for 15 years. The spot is ultimately a vehicle for the chain to advertise its Fresh Fit Meals, but multiple celebrities appear in the ad congratulating Jared on his accomplishment.

The spot begins with "The Office" star Brian Baumgartner discussing a script that's a "great, feel-good story," which ends up being about Jared. A host of Subway's Famous Fans appear in the spot, including Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, Boxer Laila Ali and speed skater Apolo Ohno, among others.
