Zing! Chevy Disses Ford in Super Bowl Spot

Welcome to the Post-Apocalyptic World Where Only Silverados -- and Twinkies -- Survive

Published on .

In a 60-second apocalyptic-themed Super Bowl spot that will air during the game's first quarter, GM's Chevrolet brand manages to get in a dig at cross-town rival Ford.

The scene opens in a dust-and-rubble-strewn city and pans to a newspaper front page blowing in the wind, the headline screaming 2012 Mayan Apocalypse: Will the World End Today? Suddenly, an engine roars to life and a Silverado busts through the rubble. After the driver meets up with his four other Silverado-driving friends, they ask where Dave is . Turns out he drove a Ford.

Speaking of auto rivals, is that a decimated Chrysler building at the 23-second mark?
