Cheetahs and horses and bears, oh my! Spots featuring fuzzy, scaly and winged creatures are a time-honored tradition in the Super Bowl.

Over the years, spots have starred, at a minimum, frogs, lizards, polar bears, pups, mosquitoes, zebras and, of course, the famed Budweiser Clydesdales. There were screaming squirrels and a mildly disturbing Mountain Dew commercial showing a man reaching down the throat of a cheetah.

Here's a smattering of the Super Bowl's (mainly) four-legged stars over the last 50 years in a video compilation.
