Anonymous was home to one of the year's most talked about commercials. Nike's Write the Future, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, brought together soccer greats and an elite cast of characters, from Roger Federer to Homer Simpson, in whimsical predictive scenarios about the World Cup's outcome. Other masterful turns came from Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinksi, who rejoined the former TAG creatives at Agency 215 to reveal a monstrous new villain in the Gears of War franchise in Ashes to Ashes for Xbox 360, and Garth Davis, who followed a sleepwalker through the Serengeti for Coca-Cola. Other amusing turns came from Brett Morgen, who showed us the quirky side of fandom in the "It's Not Crazy, It's Sports" campaign from W+K, N.Y., which documented Ole Miss Rebels' quest to elect a curious team mascotAdmiral Ackbar, Christian Loubek, who captured fear in action for Universal Studios' King Kong 360 3D and Mark Romanek, who brought contemplative touches to Dodge's "Man's Last Stand."
