4 things to know for Hispanic upfront

1. Mandatory attendance: Univision and Telemundo are must-see presentations, and tickets for the audiences of about 700 are strictly rationed (Telemundo at 7 p.m. May 15 and Univision at 10 a.m. May 17, both at New York's Lincoln Center). Univision's pitch is followed by lunch, Telemundo's by a party.

2. Hottest ticket: Everyone wants to go to People en Espa¤ol's annual party for the "50 Mas Bellos" (the issue naming the 50 most beautiful Hispanics). May 17 till late.

3. Only English-language Hispanic channel: SiTV targets acculturated young Latinos with the tagline "Speak English. Live Latin" (6 p.m. May 17). Caveat: Telemundo's presentation includes mostly English youth cable channel Mun2.

4. It's the radio upfront, too: Radio accounts for 21% of Spanish-language media, so Univision Radio does its own event (6 p.m. May 15), and ESPN Deportes does TV and radio together.
