Nadine Kantrow, 25

By Published on .

"Isn't there a saying that if you can write you go to edit, and if you can sell you go to advertising?" Nadine Kantrow asks about her particular place in the magazine business. No doubt she can write too, but at 25, Ms. Kantrow has already shown that she can definitely sell.

Since joining Hearst Magazines' Marie Claire as account manager from sibling Cosmopolitan in 2004, Ms. Kantrow has broken accounts including Donna L'oren, Lean Cuisine, LifeSavers, Sunglass Hut, Crystal Light and Yoplait Nouriche.

"She won't give up until she finds solutions," says Susan Plagemann, VP-publisher at Marie Claire.

The challenge going forward will resemble today's biggest hurdle-intensified, Ms. Kantrow says. "That's to be strategic in your thinking and come up with that big idea or that new concept that only Marie Claire can do, or whatever magazine can do, that no one else could have done."
