"Journeyman" might be the most apt description for Cisma, aka Denis Kamioka, a Brazilian native who honed his animation skills at Lobo in Sao Paulo, crafted video projects and did graphic design for Diesel in Italy and worked on cell animation in Barcelona.

The former engineering student, web designer and self-taught animator/director now sits on the roster of Pysop's sister production house Blacklist. Combining his motion graphics, cell animation and graffiti talents, Cisma ("schism" in Portuguese) has brought his multitasking to bear on spots for Fuse—featuring a surreal draining of a home flooded by a young woman's tears, and the ESPN/NBA and Nike Football campaigns for Wieden + Kennedy. "Which technique I'm going to use is usually something I wanted to learn, whether it's stop-motion, cell and 3D animation and live action," says Cisma. "But I like to mix the techniques together."

Currently at work on his second commercial for clothing brand OCB, Cisma admits that his restless nature always gets the best of him. "I don't believe in staying too long in the same place. For me, the limit is three years and after that, I like to try something else. Being [all over], you learn so much, not only in techniques but culture."
