THE BIG PUSH: Sun shows dot-coming attractions

Published on .

Sun Microsystems debuts its latest commercial spoofing film trailers in a most appropriate venue -- ABC's Academy Awards broadcast. The spot from Lowe Lintas & Partners Worldwide, San Francisco, teases viewers about an alien invasion, but it's really about the power of "The Dot," as in dot-com. Copywriter: Jae Goodman. Art director: Jesse Coulter. Other executions in the campaign feature spoofs of a big business thriller, space adventure, Disneyesque family film and gangster movie. Print ads resemble movie posters.
