It's that time again. The Super Bowl of advertising kicks off February 7. Has the game lost its luster as the ultimate ad play? Not yet, judging by the fact that, at last check, game inventory on CBS was just about sold out.
Pepsi grabbed media attention with its decision to skip the game this year, instead devoting its ad budget to, presumably, more worthy things. But most of the rest of the usual suspects will be there- Budweiser (with the Clydesdales, contrary to earlier reports), Go-Daddy (yawn), Coca-Cola, Focus on the Family... Wait. What? Yes, CBS has deemed it OK for a fundamentalist religious organization to bring its extremist views to this bastion of beer, boobs and capitalism (though the gays need not apply).Read all the Super Bowl news, including Who Bought What here.
