"The collective will have a hands-on role in identifying, recruiting, training and retaining top creative talent across the Worldgroup companies, will mobilize teams for major opportunities and launches, and will be responsible for the quality and reputation of the Worldgroup creative product," John Dooner, CEO, McCann Worldgroup, said in a statement today.
The collective will consist of Ms. King Thomas, along with Marcio Moreira, McCann's vice chairman-global professional management; Nina DiSesa, McCann Erickson New York; Adrianna Cury, McCann Erickson Brazil; Jeremy Perrott, McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific; Prasoon Joshi, McCann Ericson India; Milka Pogliani, McCann Erickson Italy; Agustin Elbaile, McCann Erickson Spain; Rob Bagot, MRM; Jeff Weiss, worldwide creative director, Momentum; Andrew Schirmer, managing director and creative director, McCann HumanCare; Wayne Fletcher, Universal McCann; Gail Heimann, Weber Shandwick; and Shane Greeves, FutureBrand.
Ms. King Thomas told Advertising Age: "It's about cultivating talent, but it's also about sharing ideas, best practices and new ways of doing things. This is a geographically and culturally disperse group with specialties and strengths that are different. ... Eventually, I think this group could set the course for how the company will work creatively."
The collective is expected to meet quarterly, with the first meeting possibly taking place this June during the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France.
