Macy's, Best Buy Partner for Tech Department Test

By Published on .

Ten Macy's stores will host Best Buy-licensed consumer electronics departments starting in November.

Staffed by Best Buy employees, the shops will take up about 300 square feet with products including Samsung smartphones, tablets, smart watches and audio devices.

"We will test and learn, along with Best Buy, through the holidays and into 2016 before deciding on next steps," said Macy's President Jeff Gennette, in a statement. Macy's operates about 885 stores. Last month, the retailer announced plans to expand to China beginning with an e-commerce site.
