Do All Asians Wear Costumes in Kentucky?

How Has KFC's KGC Commercial Lasted This Long?

By Published on .

It's probably because I'm white that it took me more than two months to figure out what was bugging me about this Kentucky Grilled Chicken commercial from DraftFCB -- I mean aside from the words "Kentucky" and "Grilled." Why are the two Asian guys wearing what appear to be "ethnic" costumes? (Or are we meant to believe that they're a couple of sushi chefs arguing over greasy chicken?) I think we all know I'm not the most sensitive guy in the world, but I just find this, well, odd (to say the least). And a quick Google search shows it popped up on Asian-American radar (see also here) right when the spots came out.
