AICE's Finalist Cut

By Ms Published on .

The Association of Independent Creative Editors (AICE) has released its list of finalists, led this year by Chris Franklin of Big Sky Editorial-a winner last year for the trailer for the Jerry Seinfeld documentary Comedian-who received four nominations. Three are for his work on the Jim Jenkins-directed campaign for Discovery Channel, in the Comedy, National Campaign and Music-Sound categories. In the latter category, he'll compete against himself with the Discovery Channel spot "Antlers" and American Express' "Sherpa." In the Campaign category, Jim Ulbrich of 89 Editorial is nominated for Coke's "Summer Games," vying with Franklin and Hal Honigsberg of Chrome for HP's series of spots directed by Francois Vogel. In the Comedy category, Lost Planet's Paul Martinez is nominated for Altoid's "Hair," as are Crew Cuts' Sherri Margulies for Dairy Queen's "Mannequin Arm," and Franklin for Discovery Channel's "Milk Truck." For Dialogue, the contenders are J.J. Lask of P.S. 260 for CNN.com's "Weather"; Terry Kaney of Avenue for Hallmark's "Warren"; and Adam Liebowitz of Go Robot for IBM's "Off-Meeting." Ulbrich, Martinez and Version2's Vito DeSario also boast multiple nominations. Winners will be announced on May 24 at Pier 60 in New York. For a full list of finalists, see www.aice.org.
