If we weren't sufficiently full of ourselves already, now the rest of the world gets to bask in the splendor of our Madison Avenue cosmos during Advertising Week, from September 20-24. Following in the swanky footsteps of New York's much celebrated Fashion Week, the Four A's masterminded the weeklong fete to celebrate creativity and the ad industry's contributions to popular culture. Held at venues all over the city, festivities will include leadership events like the Four A's Creative Conference, various pow-wows on subjects ranging from humor to the First Amendment, a public-friendly agency crawl, and-surprise!-cocktail gatherings galore. There'll even be a Parade of Icons down Madison Avenue, featuring celebrity spokesthings like Tony the Tiger. Must-attend events, of course, include our very own No Spot Short Film Festival (see adcritic.com/nospot) and Ad Age panel, "Money Talks: The View From the CMO's Office on September 21, and the September 22 panel discussion "The New Creativity: The End of Advertising As We Know It," led by Creativity's Teressa Iezzi.
