The production market appears to be holding relatively strong and steady. The Creativity Production Index - the average number of commercials produced by a sample of agency offices - dipped slightly in August, but still outpaced the same month last year by a whopping five points. And according to numbers from the Los Angeles Film Office, production days there might yet come out ahead of last year's totals. The office recorded 557 shooting days in August, the third most this year and a 12 percent gain over last August. Through August, L.A.'s 2003 commercials production days now trail 2002's by less than 1 percent.
