'We Are Looking Into That.'

Man, it's not easy being Mary Barra lately. Barely three months into her job as GM's new CEO and she's already a "Saturday Night Live" character -- and punchline. The opening sketch of this weekend's show featured cast member Kate McKinnon's deft approximation of Barra's congressional testimony last week over GM's ignition-switch scandal.

After repeatedly answering questions with empty statements like "We're looking into that" and "We are looking into that as well," McKinnon-as-Barra reaches the heights of deflection when she's asked when she first knew about the ignition-switch problem. "I am looking into knowing when I first knew about it," she says, "but I won't know the results of that knowing until I know for sure."

The recall crisis is GM's biggest since it emerged from bankruptcy protection in 2009. The company recently hired a Clinton-administration crisis expert to help handle the fallout.
