I'm pleased to note that we here at Ad Age totally saw "Mad Men" Mania coming. My colleague Andrew Hampp wrote an early set-visit piece, and in this column, a month before the series' debut (I'd seen a screener), I praised the show's fabulous style and brooding subtext of workplace intrigue and extracurricular dysfunction. Since then, of course, the AMC cable hit has become a cultural touchstone -- and a media sensation (as evidenced most recently by a New York Times Magazine "Mad Men" cover story). To celebrate the season-two premiere July 27, I'm not only randomly giving away one copy of the "Mad Men" first-season DVD box set, I'm throwing in the awesome EMI/Manhattan Records "Mad Men" soundtrack compilation.
