Samsung, Microsoft and Xbox CES Announcements Dominate Web Viewing

Even thousands of miles away, it was hard to escape the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that tech marketers looking to make a splash dominated the Viral Chart.

Sony comes in at No. 6 this week, garnering 3.3 million views of the campaign for its new Xperia Z smartphone that was launched for CES. While there are three spots in the campaign, the main video -- a two-minute demo of some of the phone's cooler features -- is grabbing most of the views. Among those cool features is its water resistance and the ability to easily mirror the phone on a TV screen.

Coming in right behind Sony is Microsoft, at No. 7. The software brand racked up 2.9 million views for "IllumiRoom," a teaser of what we might expect from the next-generation video console. Many were hoping that Microsoft would reveal its next Xbox at CES, but instead it released this video that demonstrates the research the company has done in immersive gaming, where the images project beyond the TV. Not surprisingly, this video has already inspired more than 30 copies and related clips since its release.

And last, there is Samsung, which dominated our 2012 Viral Charts, and makes its 2013 debut with "We AllShare." Coming in a No. 9 with 1.5 million views, the campaign is a trailer teasing the company's new "AllShare" technology that was unveiled at CES. The technology allows users to wirelessly stream content across all of their Samsung smart devices.
