This month's Malibu Film Festival gets a four-spot costume treatment in indie-style black and white, as turtle-like people in awkward film can costumes are sorely mistreated in Hollywood. They get the finger in the street; have eggs thrown at them; beg for money and don't get any; they can't even fit on a bus-there are no end to the indignities. Hip female VO: "Independent film can't survive in Hollywood. That's why it's coming to Malibu." Just wait till these poor cans find out about digital video.
