Goodbye Already

SBC was at GSD&M, then the account went to Goodby Silverstein, and now it's back in Austin at GSD&M, great humor still intact. In "Sleepy Groves," the best spot in the new TV campaign, oldsters in a retirement home, invariably sporting oversized cataract shades - a perfect comic prop if ever there was one - complain bitterly about getting SBC-assisted calls from their kids every single day, to the tune of Harry Nielsen's "Everybody's Talkin' At Me." Super-fast phone conversations and everyone hoarse from talking on the phone too much are among the other snappy comic conceits.
